Priority and Display Order¶
Control which content takes precedence when multiple events overlap on a display.
Priority¶
Priority determines which content plays when multiple events are scheduled at the same time:
- Higher priority events replace lower priority ones
- Priority is set as a number (0 is default/lowest)
- Events with the same priority play according to display order
Display Order¶
When multiple events share the same priority:
- Events cycle in the configured display order
- Lower order numbers play first
- Events with the same order play in the sequence they were created
Use Cases¶
Emergency Override¶
Set emergency messages to Priority 1 (or higher) so they override all normal content at Priority 0.
Scheduled Promotions¶
Run daily content at Priority 0, but schedule promotional content at Priority 1 during specific times to ensure it takes precedence.
Content Layering¶
Use priorities with Overlay events to layer content:
- Base layout: Priority 0
- News ticker overlay: Priority 0
- Emergency alert overlay: Priority 1
Info
The Agenda view in the Schedule calendar shows the exact content that will play at any given time, taking priorities into account.
