Editing Tools

The Layout Editor provides a comprehensive set of tools for positioning, resizing, and aligning elements on your canvas.

Selection and Movement

  • Click an element to select it
  • Drag to move it to a new position
  • Multi-select by holding Shift and clicking multiple elements

Resizing

Resize elements using the handles on their edges and corners:

  • Corner handles - Resize proportionally
  • Edge handles - Resize in one direction (width or height)
  • Properties Panel - Enter exact width and height values

Snap and Alignment

The editor includes snap-to features for precise positioning:

  • Snap to grid - Elements align to an invisible grid
  • Snap to edges - Elements snap to the canvas edges
  • Snap to other elements - Align with nearby elements

Layering

Control the stack order of overlapping elements:

  • Bring to Front - Place element on top of all others
  • Send to Back - Place element behind all others
  • Move Forward - Move one layer up
  • Move Backward - Move one layer down

Access layering options via the right-click context menu on any element.

Rotation

Rotate elements using:

  • The rotation handle above the selected element
  • Exact angle values in the Properties Panel

Copy and Paste

  • Right-click an element and select Copy
  • Right-click on the canvas and select Paste
  • Or use keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V

Undo and Redo

  • Ctrl+Z - Undo the last action
  • Ctrl+Y - Redo an undone action
