Show a Playlist

This guide walks you through creating a playlist — a sequence of media items that play in rotation, such as an image slideshow.

Steps

1. Create a Playlist

  1. Navigate to Library > Playlists from the main menu
  2. Click Add Playlist
  3. Enter a Name for your playlist
  4. Select a Folder for organization
  5. Click Save to open the Playlist Editor

2. Add Media Items

In the Playlist Editor:

  1. Open the Library Search panel
  2. Browse or search for media files
  3. Drag and drop items onto the timeline to add them
  4. Reorder items by dragging them within the timeline
  5. Click on any item to configure its duration and properties

Tip

You can also add widgets like Text, Clock, Weather, and more to your playlist — not just images and videos.

3. Configure Playback

For each item in the playlist:

  • Duration - How long each item displays (in seconds)
  • Transitions - Optional entry/exit effects between items
  • Expiry Dates - Set start/end dates for individual items

4. Schedule the Playlist

  1. Navigate to Schedule from the main menu
  2. Click Add Event
  3. Select Playlist as the event type
  4. Choose your playlist
  5. Select target Display(s)
  6. Set the schedule timing
  7. Complete the wizard

Dynamic Playlists

Enable Dynamic media assignment to automatically populate your playlist based on criteria:

  • Media files matching specific tags or names are auto-included
  • New files added to the Library that match the criteria are automatically added
  • No manual updates needed — the playlist stays current

Dynamic playlists are ideal for use cases like digital menu boards, news feeds, or photo galleries that update frequently.
