Transitions

Transitions control the visual effects when switching between content items on displays.

Overview

Transitions add professional visual effects between:

• Layout changes in a schedule
• Items within a playlist
• Widget changes within a layout

Available Transitions

Transition	Description
Fade In	Content gradually appears
Fade Out	Content gradually disappears
Fly	Content slides in from a direction

Configuring Transitions

Default Transition

Set the system-wide default:

1. Go to Administration > Settings
2. Under Defaults, configure the Default Transition
3. Set the Duration (in milliseconds)

Per-Item Transitions

Override transitions for specific content:

1. In the Playlist Editor, right-click an item
2. Select Transitions
3. Configure:
   • Entry Transition - Effect when the item appears
   • Exit Transition - Effect when the item leaves
   • Duration - Transition length

Managing Transitions

Administrators can enable/disable transitions:

1. Navigate to Administration > Transitions
2. View available transitions
3. Toggle transitions on/off

Not all player types support all transitions. The player will gracefully fall back to a simple cut if a transition is unsupported.
