Tags

Tags provide a flexible way to categorize and organize content throughout SignageLab.

Overview

Tags can be applied to:

  • Layouts
  • Media files
  • Playlists
  • Displays
  • Campaigns
  • DataSets

Creating Tags

Tags are created automatically when first used, or managed from the Tags page:

  1. Navigate to Administration > Tags
  2. Click Add Tag
  3. Enter the Tag Name
  4. Optionally mark as System Tag (admin-managed only)
  5. Click Save

Applying Tags

When editing any taggable item:

  1. Find the Tags field
  2. Type to search for existing tags or create new ones
  3. Select tags to apply
  4. Click Save

Using Tags

Filtering

Tags enable quick filtering across the CMS:

  • Filter library media by tag
  • Filter layouts by tag
  • Filter displays by tag in the Displays grid

Dynamic Content

Tags power dynamic features:

  • Dynamic Playlists - Auto-populate based on media tags
  • Dynamic Display Groups - Auto-include displays by tag
  • Reporting - Filter reports by tagged content

Tag Management

Administrators can:

  • Rename tags
  • Delete unused tags
  • Mark tags as system-level (prevents user modification)
  • View tag usage across the CMS
